About E. Ritter Sansoni. M.D

Dr. E. Ritter Sansoni is a dual fellowship-trained, board certified otolaryngologist specializing in head and neck surgery, and advanced rhinology and skull base surgery. After obtaining his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, he completed his internship and residency at Oregon Health and Science University in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery. Following this, he received sub-specialty training in rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery in one of the world’s premier fellowships in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Sansoni then completed an additional year of fellowship training in advanced head and neck surgical oncology at the globally renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He joined the faculty at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee where he served as the Senior Assistant Program Director for the Department of Otolaryngology’s Residency Program and Chief of Head and Neck Surgery at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Hospital. During his tenure in Tennessee, he provided tertiary surgical and medical care to patients with complex pathologies. Dr. Sansoni transitioned his practice to Alaska to provide high-level care to the people of Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley.
I care for patients with benign and malignant diseases of the head and neck as well as advanced
sinonasal disorders. Additionally, I treat many patients with general otolaryngologic
complaints.

My philosophy for patient care centers around education. I believe my role as your physician is
to give you the most accurate, up-to-date information regarding your condition to enable you
to make the best decisions possible concerning your healthcare. Additionally, I believe it is
essential to get to know my patients outside of their diagnosis. Understanding my patients’
social and physical situations improves my ability to help guide management strategies.

I am excited to bring new skillsets to Alaska and to provide world-class care to Anchorage and
the surrounding region. I’m committed to maintaining the highest surgical and medical
standards, and to continually educate myself to stay at the vanguard of patient care.

When not at work, I enjoy rock climbing, hunting, fishing and spending time with my wife and
daughter.
